Sweet baby Bunting and the orphans, it seems that iBooks featuring Intel's latest microprocessor may be announced at MacWorld Expo in January 2006. Laptopical's Ian Bandy takes a break from Christmas panto, and stuffing his face with quality street chocs, to check out this rumour.

Theinternet is a wonderful place; it's hard to imagine aworld without it. Certainly it opens up a whole raft ofcommunication possibilities, in fact it has been comparedrecently to the largest wall for graffiti in the world, and I'mnot going to argue with that inspired bit of wisdom.

While wandering through Cyberspace the other day trying in vainto get hold of a available, decently priced Xbox 360, I cameacross the web site Thinksecret.com.

It seems these Mac chaps have caused a buzz by posting a recentarticle about Apple launching an entry level Ibook with a tidyIntel chip wired into the chassis. To lure more and morepeople away from their windows filled notebooks they may bechopping off $200 from the price tag.

It looks like this big announcement could be part of theMacWorld Expo next January in San Francisco.

The Intel processor will almost certainly be their new "Yonah" theworthy successor to the aging Pentium M range. For all the techheads out there, if they go for a dual core Yonah, then this cheap notebook beauty will be more powerful than the G4 based PowerBooks.

So we will have to wait and see if all this rumour andspeculation is right when 2006 rolls along, but bear in mind thatthe scoopers that sent these rumours also happened to mention toThinkSecret that apple "might" be developing an Ipod that playsvideo, fancy that!

So when January arrives we will all know. I'll be deep intoPanto then, but you can be sure I'll have my laptop with meto make sure I keep up with all the developments on Laptopicaland the world wide web!

Nice review, mate. I've had my TZ-191N for just over a year now, and while initially put off by the price. 3200 USD. I haven't regretted it since. Definately a conversation starter.
