"Go Ahead Patel, Make My Day!" - EnforcerDispenses Justice
In stark contrast to Clint Eastwood's hard hitting portrayal of renegade cop "Dirty Harry", an Indian cop with a background in engineering, prefers a computerized approach to tackling crime in his district.
We've allheard the cliché "The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword", butwhat about the seldom used "The Laptop Is Mightier Than TheMagnum .44?" This phrase certainly applies to police superintendent NavneetSikera, who has made sterling progress nabbing gangsters inMuzaffarnagar, a crime ridden district in the Indian province ofUttar Pradesh.
Unlike fictional cop Harry Callaghan AKA "Dirty Harry", Sikerawith his background in engineering, prefers a more subtle, technological approach. Indeed, he's managed to compile a hugecomputer database of gangsters and thieves, a useful tool in hisbattle against crime. ".....My most deadly weapon in this fight is the laptop....."Stated Sikera in an interview with Lucknow Newsline....."At theclick of a button, I come to know about a criminal, his modusoperandi and whereabouts....."
When Navneet Sikera and his police officers began patrollingMuzaffarnagar, the province was a veritable den of iniquity, withnumerous incidents of extortion, robbery and violence. However, ayear after the laptop enforcer took charge things have improved dramatically. Indeed, the Muzaffarnagar district is now one of the safest in UttarPradesh.
Thanks to Sikera's growing reputation in law enforcementcircles, he has now been been promoted to a senior position inLucknow, a city with a population of over 2 million citizens.Sikera though remains undaunted, and is confident of repeatinghis success in the Lucknow district.
Indian criminals beware! No longer may you eat your kakori kebabs in peace, for the following monologue may soon be heard echoing across the streets of the golden city of the east:
".....Ah, ah.....I know what you're thinking. "Does he have 6clues on his laptop hard drive, or only five?" Well, to tell youthe truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a core duolaptop, boasting one of the most powerful processors in theworld, that would blow your turban clean off, you've got to askyourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya,Patel?....."
Perhaps Sikera's laptop crime fighting could be made into a Bollywood movie - "DirtyHari" anyone?
