PeeWee PC is debuting its PeeWee Pivot Tablet Laptop this week. The laptop comes with a resistive pivoting tablet display, kid-friendly settings and software, and protection against drops and spills.

On one level, the PeeWee Pivot Tablet Laptop is essentially a kinda cool netbook. It runs Windows XP on a 10" display, has a 1.6GHz Atom CPU, 1-2GB RAM, and a 60GB HDD. There are just 2 USB ports and a multicard reader, VGA, 802.11b/g/n, and an integrated webcam. All for only $600, which is probably several hundred dollars too many, if this was all there was to the machine.

The flipside of the Pivot Tablet Laptop is that, well, it's got a pivoting tablet display, and that's a good start. It also comes with a security suite so that parents can keep track of what their kids are doing and prevent them from doing things they don't want. It has a number of kid friendly applications already installed, and we would be remiss if we did not mention the included Walt Disney Windows XP Theme which kids cannot help but think is cool (right?). And let's not forget the ruggedized nature of the laptop which should safeguard it against the, shall we say, exuberance of small children.

And hey, if you're a parent that has never really experienced a netbook before, you're probably going to want to play around with this thing yourself. So who knows, maybe $600 is worth it. Regardless, you'll be able to get one soon.
