For the second time, the OLPC association has launched its Give 1 Get 1 program to help distribute their green mini-laptops to children in developing countries.

As reported by LaptopLogic, OLPC is back and in a giving mood. OLPC has joined up with Amazon to make the process as easy as possible, from ordering to shipping. You may place orders on Amazon starting today and they will ship within 30 days to US customers (slightly longer for other countries). If you aren't familiar with the Give 1 Get 1 program, you simply buy one of their laptops for $399 and at the same time one will be donated to a child in need. If you're not interested in sporting your own little green laptop, for just $199 you can donate without receiving one yourself. OLPC was started at MIT with the purpose of designing an inexpensive laptop for school kids in developing countries where they can't afford to buy expensive laptops or have computer labs. Over 500,000 XO laptops have shipped to over 31 countries so far, and they hope to crack 1,000,000 by the end of the year. US customers order here All others can order here Via pcworld ยด
