Apple Macs have always been popular with the artistic clique. Now Apple are rolling out a machine with a powerful Yonah processor, which should make this Macbook appeal to a wider demographic.

Image of Apple Macbook ProWhat has fourtimes the speed of a PowerBookG4, eight times the graphics bandwidth, and an Intel dual-core engine? We'll give you a hint. Its mobile instant videoconferencing capabilities are powered by iSight. And iLife allowsyou to access all of your multimedia files whenever you want, andeven create some of your own. The i's have it-that is, they should have been a dead giveawaythat we're talking about an Apple product here. But could it be the mythic MacBook Pro? The laptopthat Applephiles have been daydreaming about seemingly forever?Nothing but.
The MacBook Pro is the first Mac notebook to run on the new Intel Core Duo, two processorsbuilt into one chip. Yonah technologybrings to the table 2MB of Smart Cache, memory that can be sharedbetween the two processors, along with up to 2.16 GHz.

What that means is the Pro will deliver faster, better, and bolderwhen it comes to 2D and 3D graphics, video editing, and musicencoding. The fun doesn't stop there. MacBook Pro also packs frontside busand 667MHz memory that's faster than any other Mac out there. Andunlike any other Mac, the notebook has PCI Express, ATI MobilityRadeon X1600, and a Serial ATA hard drive. Increased graphiccapabilities on a brand known for graphics makes for irresistiblepotential.

To show off the results of your creative juices and MacBook'spower, there's Front Row. With the Apple Remote, the applicationallows you to present your work, projects, and proposals toclients, friends, and bosses. Complement them with the videos, songs, photos, and other media stored in the Mac's now famousiLife suite of lifestyle applications (there's that i again).

One thing Laptopical found disappointing was the lack of a builtin modem. What happens if a Macbook owner finds themselves on a business trip to Krakozhia in a one horse town a light year away from a hot spot? Also it looks like I can't use my new Mogo mousebecause of Sir PC card slot not appearing in this film:( Come onApple, you can do better than that :)

Bottom line though for this review is the MacBook Pro is goodvalue when you consider its features. You can't ignore that thisnew Apple notebook comes stacked with hardware such as a 15.4-inch widescreendisplay (17 inch also available), up to 120GB of hard drive, a FireWire 400 port, built-inmicrophone and stereo speakers, slot-loading "SuperDrive,"built-in AirPort Extreme (with 802.11g wireless), Bluetooth, anda Gigabit Ethernet.
