A specially created low-level driver hijacks all network connections, routing Internet traffic through the device before it reaches the host computer, ensuring that any attacks hit the Gatekeeper Pico for Mac and not the host computer.”

Among the 12 security functions featured in the Gatekeeper for Mac is an integrated stateful inspection firewall, Kaspersky anti-virus/anti-spyware, SurfControl Web content filtering, a multi-layer security agent, Snort intrustion and prevention systems, and anti-spam and anti-phishing from Mailshell. There is also a VPN client on the card version.
