Just launched today, the Gatekeeper Card Pro for Mac and the Gatekeeper Pico Pro for Mac offer the best portable security available for your Macbook. Gatekeeper Pro is inserted directly into the ExpressCard slot, and the Gatekeeper Pico is a similarly powerful USB addition.

“The Gatekeeper Card Pro for Mac marks the first time that an entire computer has been designed for installation inside another computer – essentially a computer within a computer – for the purpose of providing the most advanced security protection on the market,” according to Yoggie.

The Gatekeeper Pico for Mac is described by Yoggie as “a USB key-size Linux-based security mini-computer [which] boots up automatically with the Mac and begins protecting the Mac host immediately. A specially created low-level driver hijacks all network connections, routing Internet traffic through the device before it reaches the host computer, ensuring that any attacks hit the Gatekeeper Pico for Mac and not the host computer.”

Among the 12 security functions featured in the Gatekeeper for Mac is an integrated stateful inspection firewall, Kaspersky anti-virus/anti-spyware, SurfControl Web content filtering, a multi-layer security agent, Snort intrustion and prevention systems, and anti-spam and anti-phishing from Mailshell. There is also a VPN client on the card version.

Both devices are compatible with Mac OS X version 10.5.4, or Leopard, and higher. MSRP for the Yoggie Gatekeeper Pico for Mac is $149 and the Gatekeeper Card Pro for Mac is $199. Pre-order from www.yoggie.com and receive a 20% discount. Sales from Yoggie and other retailers will begin on 12/1/08.
