  I think Linux already supports Trim. Its just no SSD has support for it yet. The firmware upgrade is required for current generation OCZ and Intel drives for Trim to be enabled.

  I was quite surprised when I used a ultra portable the other day with linux loaded it compared very favourably to a MS xp advent I am using.For the limited application of this size of portable there is little between the two oporating systems.Although its worth bearing in mind xp will not be supported soon and linux grows better by the quarter its updates are free and frequent.

  It seemed odd that Acer would choose to limit the options on the new netbook. Consumers tend to like having choices, and besides, the old 8.9" Aspire One had both Linux and SSD options. Free online games . . Regards,
