Japan Carrier Offering Ultra-Portable Notebooks for $1 with Data Plan
A Japanese carrier is selling the Asus Eee 701 notebooks for 100 yen with monthly data plan.
Since Intel insists on calling the new wave of ultra-portable notebooks 'Netbooks', they might as well live up to the name.
A Japanese carrier is now offering the original Eee 701 notebook for 100 yen (about .95 cents), throwing in a 4G modem, in return for a monthly data plan. The plan is priced between $30 and $65 each month.
I'm officially jealous. Being able to access the Internet anywhere with my ultra-portable would be well worth the monthly price.
