Apple is officially launching iLife '09 tomorrow, and are currently refreshing all the inventory in all their stores to make sure every new Mac gets a copy.

If you've been bumbling around with iLife '08 on your brand new unibody MacBook wondering when the next update was coming, you weren't alone. After all, iLife '08 came out in mid-2007, and here we are in January 2009 with last year's iLife. Don't fret any longer though because starting tomorrow, all new Macs will ship with iLife '09 installed.

Of course, you might still be fretting, because you bought your Mac a day or a week or a month ago, before the release. Well, if you bought it any more than 20 days ago, you'll have to pay for a $79 upgrade if you want the new program. If you bought it on January 6th or later you are eligible for the iLife Up-To-Date upgrade program, which charges you only $9.95 S&H for a copy of the software. For those of you who will be lining up tomorrow to get your new Mac-with-iLife09, all stock computers will be loaded with a drop-in DVD so that you get the software with the purchase, but have to install it yourself. By next week sometime all new Mac orders should come with everything pre-installed.

If you want the upgrade, make sure you're running the latest version of Leopard (10.5.6) first. 1GB of RAM is also recommended along with 4GB of disk space.
