Hewlett Packard just unveiled a new slim-and-light laptop at CES. It's a little 12 inch wonder that measures 0.93 inches is sure to appeal to a broader crowd than that of similar sized notebooks like the MacBook Air and other ultra-expensive alternatives, thanks to a much lower entry price point.

The base price is $599, but admittedly that includes just a bare minimun specification: a single-core processor and no discreet graphics. This might be sufficient for a lot of users, but as it's built-to-order you are free to pimp it quite liberally.

The Pavilion DV2 laptop can be configured with up to 500GB in hard drive space plus the discrete graphics mentioned earlier. You also can get it with up to 4GB of RAM. The most important feature for movie buffs, on the other hand, might be the inclusion of a slot loading Blu-Ray drive plus an HDMI port. It will soon be available in either glossy white or black.

HP IS HORRIBLE. I had my computer for not even a year and they made the battery faulty and my whole hard drive was destroyed. Meaning, all my pictures, documents EVERYTHING were gone because of their mistake. They replaced the computer because it was still under warranty but a year later the same thing happened. This time I was a junior in College and midway through the semester everything was once again gone and my warranty was up so they didn't care. HP was very rude on the phone and pretty much insisted that it was my fault that they don't know how to make fans. I will never buy an HP AGAIN!
