Toshiba have recently exhibited the Tecra M3 and S3, the first laptop computers ever to fully comply with europe's strict environmental RoHS regulations.

This week,Toshiba proudly exhibited the first "green" laptops ever to fullycomply with the new environmental RoHS regulations. These ruleswere put forth by the European Parliament to reduce the use oflead, mercury, and other potentially hazardous chemicals in theproduction of new electronic equipment.

And the twin Tecras, the "Tecra S3" and "Tecra M3" crossed thefinish line well before the July 1, 2006, deadline. The M3, inparticular, which retails for $2,699, is power-packed with thelatest Intel, Centrino technology. This laptop also wins points for panache and chic, weighing around 2.26 kg:it's slim, slick build is not ultralight, yet still makes auseful portable pal.

The Tecra S3, with a list price of $2,499, boaststop-of-the-line desktop replacement performance in addition toenhanced data security (safely equipped with Toshiba's newestTimer feature, Fingerprint Sensor and TPM), plus a 15" TFTdisplay super-packed with NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 Expressgraphics. All this, along with its build quality and durability, clearly places Toshiba Corporation at the top of theRoHS-compliant laptop stack.

The Tecra M3 is also the world's first unit to offer anexclusive VACF (Viewing Angle Control Filter) LCD, which promotessecurity and private viewing even in the most public places. Thechessboard-like screen pattern prevents side viewing, and theAnti-Theft Protection Timer also keeps prying eyes away byfeaturing a timer-activated BIOS password. And, with innovativeRaid Technology, most, if not all, detectable errors will becorrected automatically with data saved on the second drive.

Toshiba's important green laptop launch leads the way into theeco friendly territory that all notebook computers must nowvisit, before reaching the sweaty palms of eager buyers.
