Sony FJ VAIO Series Notebook - Custom Designed?

In an act of generosity to warm the cockles of your hard drive, several of Hollywood's entertainers are on tour - but it's not what you think: Instead of attending a red carpet premiere, or headlining a sold-out concert, six Tinseltown starlets will be promoting Sony's VAIO FJ series notebooks for an online auction that will benefit America's Second Harvest, aka The Nation's Food Bank Network.

The luminaries, Jessica Alba, Elijah Wood, Wilmer Valderrama, Mark Ruffalo, DJ AM and Nicole Richie, are pooling their creative, artistic talents and applying them directly on to Sony Vaio FJ laptops. The thin, lightweight FJ PCs come in a dazzling array of colors - Onyx Black, Pearl White, Sky Blue, Jade Green, and Raspberry Red casings, with similar shades tinting the palm rests and bezels.

Robert H. Forney, president and CEO of America's Second Harvest, says - ".....There are 38 million Americans at risk of hunger during the holidays. This is a creative way to raise awareness of this critical issue and help make a difference......"

Sony's Mike Abary, vice president of VAIO product marketing, agrees: ".....We're hoping to draw people to our stores to learn more about VAIO, but more importantly, to focus attention on this cause......"

FJ Vaios retail around $1,400 and can be purchased online or at SonyStyle stores, and in selected malls nationwide. The actual "Laptop Celebrity Tour" began in LA, then moved on to Houston's Galleria Nov. 28, where it will remain until Dec. 9. From there, the vogue troupe will move to New York's SonyStyle store and stay from Dec. 12 until Dec. 24. On Dec. 26, Las Vegas' Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace will host the auction - until the tour ends on Jan. 9.

Can't make it? Not to worry. From Jan. 9 to Jan. 23, the personalized FJ laptops will be auctioned on eBay http://www.ebay.com/vaio. And, total proceeds will be matched by Sony.

America's Second Harvest is a network of 200 food banks that distribute food and grocery products to more than 50,000 charitable agencies, and over 23 million low-income citizens in the USA.

Corporations are often portrayed as Scrooges with hearts of coal, so hats off to Sony and the six celebs for donating their time to this charitable project.
